Bob Barker spends one million to save three elephants
Bob Barker, a former television game show host just spent almost $1 million to bring three former zoo elephants from Canada to a California animal sanctuary. Thanks to Barker's efforts and generosity, the female African elephants are getting settled into their new home at the Performing Animal Welfare Society's Ark 2000 compound, so named because it covers 2,000 acres in Calaveras County.

“Elephants don’t belong it Canada, it’s too cold,” the TV icon told the Daily News Wednesday. “These three were confined to a barn most of the year, probably as much as 80% of the time, and they were slowly going to die right there in that zoo.”
