  1. I doubt this is correct. Aunt Bee was born in 1902, and this costume and pose look like 1940s or 1950s studio work. And that doesn't look like a model in her 40s or 50s.

And this actually looks a lot more like either Audrey Meadows (from the Honeymooners) or her sister Jayne Meadows (Steve Allen's wife).

  2. This is Gloria DeHaven!! Anyone can see that it's Gloria & NOT Frances Bavier. Obviously some idiot has started spreading this.

  3. I can't believe this picture is still being circulated as Frances Bavier, & people are believing it. It is positively Gloria DeHaven.

  4. It's a funny misidentification (hoax/joke) though ... ha ha ... because now I wonder what Francis Bavier (Aunt Bea) actually did look like at 24 years of age, which Gloria DeHaven is in this publicity still from the 1949 movie "Yes Sir, That's My Baby" starring Donald O'Connor.

I bet no one can find a photo of Aunt Bea in her 20's ! This is about the youngest photo I can find of her, and she still looks like Margaret Thatcher ..
