A woman named Nikea Rivera, who is accused of setting her apartment building on fire, reportedly admitted to the crime, saying "The devil made me do it. There are ghosts in my house." After the fire was brought under control, investigators suspected Rivera, a resident of the building, to be the perpetrator. According to reports, Rivera made several disturbing statements about the fire and the building, including "I had to do it," and "The devil made me do it." She was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of arson.
