A 59-year-old man has denied sexual offences against chickens and stealing female underwear from a washing line.

Matthew Reid, whose address was given in court as HM Prison, Knox Road, Norwich, has been charged with sexual offences against chickens and a cockerel in Hunstanton on Sunday, July 2.

He has also been charged with stealing a girl’s swimsuit and underwear in the West Norfolk seaside resort, between the dates of June 15 and September 3 of this year.

Reid appeared via a videolink for a brief hearing at King’s Lynn magistrates court on Thursday, November 16.

Reid only spoke to confirm his full name, date of birth and nationality to the court.

He then entered formal pleas of not guilty to both of the offences.

District Judge Nicholas Watson told Reid he was sending the case to be heard in Norwich Crown Court where Reid will appear on Thursday, December 14.
